Day 1 - Copenhagen
Your tour starts in Copenhagen, the gateway to Scandinavia. During the 14th and early 15th Century, Copenhagen was even the capital of all of Denmark, Sweden and Norway, and flourished as a result. Originally a Viking fishing village, Copenhagen has grown into a metropolis that combines the modern with the folklore that stands at the root of Danish culture. Overnight stay in a hotel close to the train station and a short walk from the harbour.
Day 2 - Stockholm
Take a morning train across the famous Øresund bridge to Stockholm. You will be travelling on the X2000 tilting train, which travels at speeds of up to 200 k/h. Arrival in Stockholm in the early afternoon. To explore Stockholm, we recommend using its metro system, also known as the longest art gallery in the world because of the décor of its stations. Tonight you will be staying in a floating hotel, located on the water close to the central station.
Day 3 - Oslo
Leave Stockholm in the morning in a direct train to Oslo. The train passes Lake Vänern, the largest lake in Europe, and verdant forest-covered landscapes dotted with little red houses. Norway’s capital is situated at the end of the Oslofjord. The hotel you will be staying in is next to the train station and the famous Opera House, and a short walk from the shores of the fjord.
Day 4 - Vatnahalsen
From Oslo, you will take a morning train called the Bergensbanen to Myrdal, where you will transfer for a short trip on the world famous Flåmsbana to Vatnahalsen. You will arrive in the early afternoon and can enjoy the surrounding mountains and fjord for the rest of the day.
You will be staying in an authentic mountain hotel in Vatnahalsen, which is just 1 km walk from Myrdal station. You can choose to walk this section if you like.
Day 5 - Bergen
Today you will continue on the Flåmsbana and travel by train, boat and bus to Bergen. Leave on the morning train from Vatnahalsen to Flåm and take in the stunning panoramas. Transfer onto the ferry, which will take you from Flåm to Gudvangen over the fjord. Arrival in Bergen in the late afternoon/evening. Bergen faces the Byfjorden and lies between a group of mountains known as the Seven Mountains. It is considered to be the street art capital of Norway, with the works of several world famous artists to be found around the city. Overnight stay in a hotel close to the train station and a short walk from the harbour.
Day 6 - Fjordline to Hirtshals
Departure ferry 13:30, arrival Hirtshals 08:00
Take the morning to explore Bergen. In the early afternoon you will board the Fjordline ferry, which will take you along the coast of Norway to Hirtshals in Denmark. You will sleep on board the ferry and arrive in Hirtshals in the morning.
Day 7 - Return to Copenhagen
Upon arrival in Hirtshals, you will take a train connection to Copenhagen, arriving in the afternoon.
