Day 1 - Ubeda
Start the rail tour in Madrid and take the high-speed Talgo train to Linares-Baeza. Travel time: 3h. Continue by taxi to the town of Ubeda, listed on UNESCO world heritage list. Ubeda is one the most beautiful towns of the country, situated on top of a hill surrounded by olive groves.
Overnight stay in the Parador**** of Ubeda, a former palace on the central square of Ubeda. The Parador, surrounded by churches and other palaces, has a wonderful courtyard and spacious rooms.

Day 2 - Baeza / Jaen
In the morning there is time to visit Baeza, either by regional bus or taxi. Baeza has also a beautiful old town with numerous monuments on UNESCO's world heritage list. In the early afternoon continue the rail tour by modern MD (2nd class only) from Linares-Baeza station to Jaen. Travel time: 45min. Jaen is a wonderful town and also known as the capital of olive oil. The oil, locally called liquid gold, comes from the largest olive groves of Spain which surround town.
The Parador**** of Jaen is situated in the Medieval Castle of Santa Catalina, standing high above the city on a hill. Rooms have magnificent views of town.
Day 3 - Ronda
Travel by MD train to Cordoba and continue by Alvia train to Ronda. Travel time: 4h30min. Ronda is one of the famous white villages (pueblos blancos). The Guadalevin River and its 100 meter deep canyon run straight through Ronda, there are some beautiful arched bridges connecting the two sides. Enjoy the beauty and charm of the village.
Spend the night in the Parador**** of Ronda, located in the former town hall and right on the gorge and the Puente Nuevo bridge. Its a spectacular spot with incredible views of the river and gorge. The hotel has a swimming pool and spacious rooms.
Day 4 - Madrid
Return to Madrid by high-speed Alvia train. Travel time: 4h.
